Penny Universe scores 4 star review...

Thanks Mr Mengel we are touched and feel most praised by your approval for our rock n roll on rock n roll

"Extended play" - Noel Mengel, The Courier Mail, 27/10/2012

THE DARK FAIR Penny Universe (Independent) ****
FIRST evidence of a new project from former Brisbane songwriter Kate Bradley and drummer Ellie Dunn, stripping down Bradley’s old Goodbye Horses line-up to just guitar and drums but still playing with all the feisty rock ‘n’ roll fervour of the old band. Opener Boom is intense, all jagged guitars and thunderous rhythms; Walking on the Face of Pluto weds Bradley’s cryptic lyrics to a rush of rock ‘n’ roll energy. Then Sang the Black Hole is equally danceable and a little more poppy while Some Storms Have Names shows that what they might lack in numbers they can make up with sheer attitude. Rock’s not dead yet then, it’s official. They support The Medics at the Brisbane Powerhouse on November 4.
